Ho Chi Minh City is a young city where you can feel the rhythm of an active and modern life. On the streets you can see the fast pace of daily life. In each corners of the city, you can see the bustling atmosphere of people who gather and discuss or do their work or business enthusiastically. On the opposite side of that state, home is a peaceful place where one loves to hide in. This 2 days local life by Hoi An Express is sure to bring you some special moments of your traveling when you come and live in Saigon people’s style.
Day 1: Local life
Pick up at the hotel, we will head to the
local market to purchase what is needed to prepare for your home cooking class. The Saigonese usually starts their day by going to the market after breakfast. They buy vegetable, meat, fishes, and other things for the whole day’s meals. So, you can be a Saigonese in a moment by joining the crowd in the market, choose a kiosk where you can buy ingredients needed. You can choose and bargain to have the best one. Then, you come to the
local house to check-in.
Enjoy a quick rest in your room before prepping and cooking lunch together with the hostess. During cooking time, the hostess can assist you in making your lunch and guide you ways to cook the meal to the Vietnamese’s taste. This time of cooking may become a memorable moment about the Vietnamese cuisine and you can also cook such dishes in your own home.
It is the time for relaxation in a hair salon pampered with hair wash and facial massage. You have a few minutes to be closer to the normal services that the locals love to enjoy after their hard working days. Then a motorbike trip takes you around the city through some streets to observe and find out more about Saigonese’s eating habit. Saigon is concentrated with all tastes from the south to the north of Vietnam. You can try southern dishes like
“banh xeo” or
“banh khot” (Vietnamese rice pancake in southern style), or some special dishes of Hue City as
“com hen” (mussels rice),
“bun bo” (Hue style Beef Noodle soup), or
“bun cha Ha Noi” (Hanoi Grilled Pork Vermicelli).
Saigoneses usually enjoy their time of relaxation in a café shop to meet friends to talk or listing to music. You should take this opportunity to see what it feels like and why the locals like to sit in coffee shops on their free time. One of the lovely café shop will be introduced to you is
a Café shop located not far from Sai Gon center. This place is not the same as many noisy café shops that you may see along the roads in Sai Gon. It is a peaceful and romantic place with old style decoration sure to make your evening become more interesting and memorable.

Day 2: Discover and experience
Begin a new day in cheery state, you will go out by taxi and have your breakfast at
Pho Hoa, where very famous Vietnamese noodle soup is served. You will then have a short walk through some small alleys where you will discover the normal life of the Sai Gon people.
You will drop by
a kindergarten school to see kids in the first stage of their study. You can talk and snap some photos with them. Your special photos may become original postcards from your trip to your relatives or friends. Return to the house and have lunch. Time at leisure.
You together with the hottest will cook the
Vietnamese sweet banana with coconut milk dessert. You have more chances to discover the delicious sweet dessert that many Sai Gon people love.
