Cuc Phuong — the oldest national park in Vietnam
8:00 AM Pick up at hotel in Ha Noi for departure to Cuc Phuong National Park, southwest of Ha Noi. It takes approximately 2.5 hours (110 km) to get to Cuc Phuong National Park (officially opened in 1960 as the first national park in Vietnam).
We will first visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Center, a non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation, breeding, research, and conservation of endangered primates as well as protection of their habitats.
After lunch, we will continue further into the Park Center. On the way, we will visit the Cave of Early Man (had for over 7000 years). We will start on a long trek through the forest to learn about the diverse floras and faunas of the park. We will also make stops at Cho Chi — the oldest tree in the forest, and visit the picturesque streams and waterfalls. Then, head back to the Park Center and return to Ha Noi.
What to bring: Boots/sport shoes, headlights, camera, hat, and insect repellent.
