Unlike popular visits to temples, a pilgrimage excursion to the Perfume Pagoda is a combination of religious pilgrimage, slow boat trip between poetic mountains and streams, and light climbing exercises.
Enjoy a full-day tour to the Perfume Pagoda, one of the most important religious sites for Buddhists in Vietnam.
The 9-hour tour provides a combination of religious pilgrimage, slow boat trip between poetic mountains, and light climbing up dreamy hills. Following your scenic drive from Hanoi, passing tranquil villages and paddy fields, climb aboard a boat at Yen Vy Wharf.
Then, cruise gently to explore the vast complex of Buddhist temples and shrines at the Perfume Pagoda (Chùa Hương), built into the limestone Huong Tich Mountains. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant en route.
Trek up limestone cliffs through tropical forests to Huong Tich Grotto, just as the North Vietnamese do every spring after the Vietnamese New Year, to pray for all the health and prosperity they need to get them through the year.
