Riders will get to experience Mardi Gras through the Backstreet's extensive collection of Mardi Gras Indian Suits, and the costumes, pictures and videos of many of the characters that take to the streets on Mardi Gras Day. Inside you’ll find exhibits on the Mardi Gras Indians, jazz funerals, the Skull and Bone Gangs, Baby Dolls, and much more. Riding a Segway does require the need to be able to stand for long periods of time. Therefore it’s not feasible for wheelchair confined persons.
All riders must be at least 12 years of age.Any guest under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult or authorized guardian. No unattended minor will be able to tour without an authorized guardian.
Credit card or cash in the amount of $500 is required for security deposit. Each participating member will be required to complete and sign a liability waiver form.
Each tour begins with a short safety video followed by time to practice in our training area across the street and instruction from your tour guide. We will practice on the Segways until everyone feels comfortable. Anyone suspected of being under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to ride. Unfortunately, pregnant women will not be permitted to participate.
