Two of Colorado's most exciting rafting rivers -- Clear Creek and the Arkansas River -- can be accessed on a day trip from Denver. If you need flexibility, no problem! On the Clear Creek trip, you can choose duration (either half-day or full-day) and rafting level (beginner, intermediate or advanced).
If you’re willing to venture further for a full-day tour on the Arkansas River, you’ll be rewarded with an intermediate-level rafting experience through Colorado’s amazing Royal Gorge.
Clear Creek:
Just a 30-minute drive from Denver, Clear Creek provides beginner, intermediate and advanced rafting. While you enjoy the expansive scenery, there’s also a good chance you’ll see local wildlife on the river’s shore. Half-day, 3-hour (4-hour with transport) trips do not include lunch. Half-way through your full-day, 5-hour (6-hour with transport) raft trip, bring the raft to shore and enjoy a deli lunch before finishing down the rapids.
Arkansas River and the Royal Gorge:
A two-hour drive from Denver, the Arkansas River flows through one of the deepest gorges in North America – the Royal Gorge. Your full-day trip will have you barreling down the intermediate-level rapids of the Arkansas River and passing through the incredible, 10-mile-long (16 km) gorge, which at 50 feet (15 meters) wide and 1,250 feet (380 meters) deep in some places, is one of the most breathtaking places to raft in all of Colorado. Mid-way through your 2.5-hour trip, pull the raft to the shore and enjoy a deli lunch with a range of cold cuts.
