Magens Bay Beach Fishing in St Thomas

Enjoy a gorgeous evening fishing under the stars in St Thomas! Meet at Magens Bay Beach for three hours of beach fishing in the Caribbean Sea and experience the thrill of baiting the big three: shark, barracuda and tarpon. Your guide is a fisherman with more than 20 years of freshwater and saltwater fishing experience — so you won’t need any. Numbers are limited to 6 people, ensuring an intimate experience with a small group.

Make your way to Magens Bay Beach, conveniently located approximately 15 minutes by taxi from most resorts. Upon arrival, your fishing guide will meet your small group and provide a brief introduction. Then select from a variety of pre-cut bait, including shrimp, mullet and squid. Whether you choose to bait your own hook or let your experienced guide do it for you, you’ll have your fishing line in the water within just a few minutes!

Fish are most active just before and after sundown, so you will be fishing during the most productive hours of the day. Try to land any one of more than a dozen species of fish, including tarpon, shark, barracuda, bonefish and snapper — all within casting range.

Since Magens Bay is a sheltered bay, the water is relatively calm, allowing you to wade into the waist-deep water. Or simply stay dry on shore, seated in a lounge chair, and secure your fishing pole in a rod holder in the sand if you wish. Your guide will attach small bells to the top of each fishing pole so that you’ll hear a ringing bell each time a fish is reeled in.

Once the sun goes down, the only lights you see are from distant homes, the moon and the stars, but several lanterns and flashlights are available if you need. Enjoy soft drinks and bottled water from the cooler while a camera is always at the ready to take a picture of you with your sea monster! Afterward, your small group will release all of the fish.

You’ll be sure to enjoy a pleasant and relaxing evening fishing from the shore — the easiest and most affordable way to get a line in the Caribbean Sea!
