Ice Road Trucker Big Rig Experience in Anchorage

This 2- to 3-hour experience in Anchorage lets you get up close to the huge semi-trucks seen in 'Ice Road Truckers' and learn about the risky, but very important, job of driving a big rig over frozen arctic lakes and rugged, remote roads. You'll then feel what it's like to drive one yourself during a 10-minute big rig simulation experience!

Ice Road Truckers, a reality TV show on the History Channel, depicts the extremely tough and risky job of driving semi-trucks filled with important cargo across frozen lakes and unmaintained roads in some of the most remote areas of arctic Alaska and Canada. During this tour in Anchorage, you'll discover the world of ice road trucking and learn about the job firsthand.
After being outfitted with an orange safety vest, you'll be taken to the Anchorage port to receive a guided tour of the Carlile Transportation Yard. Here, learn the ins and outs of the trucking industry and get up-close views of massive big rigs, including a state-of-the-art sleeper truck.
Discover what day-to-day life is like for a driver as you explore the sleeper truck and get a glimpse of living standards on the road. Then, hop in the truck simulator for a once-in-a-lifetime 10-minute adventure that lets you experience what it's really like to be a trucker on Alaska's famous Dalton Highway, one of the most isolated roads in the US.
