Hop On Hop Off Muir Woods and Sausalito Tour

Visit two of Northern California's most beautiful spots - the famous Muir Woods National Monument and the coastal town of Sausalito - at your own pace, staying as long as you want in either location! With frequent returns to San Francisco throughout the day you will enjoy a flexible, relaxing and fun filled day.

The tour takes you along the Pacific Coast Highway providing breathtaking views of the coastal mountains near Mt. Tamalpais, the highest point in the Northern California Coast Ranges. Muir Woods is home to Coast Redwoods, some of the world's tallest trees. With maps and guides in hand, take a short walk or a full day trek through these spectacular woods and take in the immense natural beauty. Set aside in 1908 as a federally protected area, Muir Woods National Monument is the only surviving stand of Old Growth forest in the Bay Area today (admission not included).

Sausalito is located at the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge. A small Mediterranean-like village in Marin County, it is now home to some of the country's wealthiest citizens. Sausalito is a gorgeous destination that offers unique boutique shopping, art galleries, fabulous mansions, amazing food and breathtaking views of the bay.

From Sausalito, you have the option to return to San Francisco with the hourly service aboard one of our open top buses or enjoy a ferry ride back at your leisure (ferry ticket not included). The ticket is valid for 48 hours. Buses run all day every day all year round.

Vouchers must be redeemed with City Sightseeing at 2800 Leavenworth Street, San Francisco, CA 94133 (between Beach Street & Jefferson Street). Pick up is provided for Muir Woods ONLY and guests still have to exchange voucher for service at 2800 Leavenworth Street.

Start or opening time

From April 01st to September 30th - Departs every hour between 10 AM and 2 PM with last return from Muir Woods at 4:25 PM and last return from Sausalito at 6 PM. During peak season (mainly July & August) additional departures are added. From October 01st to March 31st - Departs every 2 hours between 10 AM and 2 PM with last return from Muir Woods at 4:25 PM and last return from Sausalito at 5 PM. During winter season (October to March) subject to weather conditions. For Muir woods ONLY hotel pickup is available before 9 AM at most downtown hotels but customers must book the pickup at least 24 hours in advance. Bus directly to Muir Woods ONLY departs at 9am from main office. Other departures to Muir Woods are with connection in Sausalito.
