Depart from downtown Waikiki for a tropical evening tour of Honolulu’s holiday lights. Aboard the classic double-decker bus, you coast past Honolulu’s festive light displays in the warm Hawaiian air.
Relax on the bus listening to classic holiday tunes through complimentary ear buds as it makes a complete loop, giving you an up-close view of the sparkling display. After making the 30-minute loop through the Ward Entertainment Center, head to the Honolulu Hale, located on Punchbowl Street, where you can hop off for a half-hour to explore.
Hawaii’s laid-back vibe is on full display at Honolulu Hale, the seat of the city's government and the focal point of the holiday celebrations. On the lawns surrounding the government building, you can spot palm trees strung with lights, oversize gingerbread men and a barefoot Santa flashing the “shaka” sign. Enter the actual Hale building to view the handmade wreath competition and trees decorated in the year's theme. A local tradition, the family-friendly celebration also includes rides for little ones and a giant Christmas tree, adorned with twinkling lights and Hawaii-themed ornaments. Spend as much time as you’d like enjoying the local celebration, before hopping back on the bus to the stop nearest to your hotel.
