Hilly inclines and tight corners make Sugarloaf Mountain a dramatic change from the generally flat terrain of Florida. On the northern side of Lake Apopka, the landscape becomes less populated and more wooded. Then the real fun begins on Old Country Road 561, on the western side of the lake. This road along with Old Country Road 455 make a nice loop around the mountain. From the mountain top, you can see Lake Apopka to the east and the Orlando skyline on the horizon.
