Golden Gate Park Segway Tour San Francisco

The Golden Gate Park Segway Tour is the most sensational waynal way to see this 1000+ acre park! You will love gliding through the roads and trails on a Segway. This fully narrated journey will take you to the Park's best views and hidden locations while learning about the history and tales of this oasis in the city.

Fun Fact: Golden Gate Park is larger than New York's Central Park and once consisted of sand dunes that are now covered with more than 75,000 trees!

We are the exclusive licensed Segway tour operator in Golden Gate Park We have a limited amount of walk up tickets available. Most tours sell out. We strongly encourage advance reservations!


Tour and Training Overview:

After a 45-50 minute fun training on how to safely operate the Segway, you'll explore the Golden Gate Park with a fully narrated tour. Tours are limited to eight riders and ages 12 and up over 100 lbs (45 kilos) are welcome.

Rates:

Fees are $ 70.00 per person. Advance reservations are required.

Departure Dates and Times:

April through October daily9:00 am, 12:30 pm and 4:00 pm.

November through March 10:00 am and 1:30 pm daily. 

All tours start on time, so please arrive 15 minutes early.

Allow lots of extra arrival time on weekends.

Tour will be closed on Christmas & New Year day. We will also be closed during major public events in the Park.

Tour Length:

Training takes 45 -50 minutes, Day tours are two one half hours including the training time. During the busy Summer season training time may be slightly longer

The seven mile tour route explores the eastern section of the 1107 acre park on winding trails and bike routes.

Tour start location is in the paved area directly behind the Sprekels Temple of Music( band stage ) in the Golden Gate Park Music Concourse area.

If you are trying to find us using GPS the entrance to the Japanese Tea Garden is across the street from our training lot at 75 Hagiwara Tea Garden Drive SF CA 94118.

Parking spaces are not available at the guest training location. The Segway training area is not visible until you are behind the Band shell (stage.) On some GG Park special event days the training area will be moved to the adjacent Tour Bus Parking Lot.


Paid underground garage parking is available at the Music Concourse Garage located between the deYoung Museum and the California Academy of Science. We do not reimburse parking costs. Free on street parking is available on adjacent streets and fills rapidly on weekends. We suggest taking public transit on MUNI to the Park.

Important: John F. Kennedy Drive through the park is closed on Sundaysfrom Transverse Drive to McLaren Lodge.

From April through September JFK Drive is also closed to traffic on Saturdays from Tea Garden Drive to Transverse Drive. Allow extra time to travel to and find parking on weekends. Please arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled tour time to check in and start your tour and training on time.

 

Rider Requirements:

The San Francisco Golden Gate Park Segway Tour has only a few restrictions. Riders must:

  • Be age 12 and up over 100 lbs (45 kilos). Guests under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. (If you are concerned about mobility issues please call us to discuss. We want every rider to have a safe tour.) Pregnant guests are not allowed on the tour.
  • Be able to easily and quickly step on and off the Segway without assistance, which requires physical abilities similar to climbing and descending stairs without any assistance or use of a handrail. You will be standing for 2 hours.
  • Weigh between 100 and 250 pounds (45 to 113 kilos)
  • This activity is not recommended for guests age 70 and up.
  • Wear the helmet and safety vest that is provided with the tour.
  • Not wear flip-flops, open-toe sandals, or high heels.
  • Sign a liability waiver.
  • Complete the Segway rider training and test ride.
  • Respect road signs, pedestrians, bikes and cars for a safe enjoyable ride.
Guide, Training, Helmets and safety vests are mandatory and are included in the tour price.
Tour prices do not include meals, beverages, parking, admission fees or souvenirs.
For cancellation up to 3 days, a full refund will be given. For cancellation up to 1 days, 50% refund will be given.
