Cocoa Beach and Airboat Ride with Transport

Wiggle your toes in the sand or hang ten at Orlando’s closest and coolest beach. Cocoa Beach is an easy hour’s drive east of Orlando along Florida’s magical Space Coast. Natural beauty and man-made wonders coexist in Cocoa Beach. The once-sleepy beach town didn’t get its first stoplight until the 1950s. Soon after, the seaside city’s population and prestige took off when NASA inaugurated what is now called the John F. Kennedy Space Center a mere 15 miles up the coast.

Stop by a local landmark, the Cocoa Beach Pier, which extends into the Atlantic Ocean. Built in 1962, it became the home a year later for a surf shop founded by Ron DiMenna. Ron Jon Surf Shop sold boards while building an empire based on the waves and the idea of the eternal summer. We will make a pilgrimage to his “One of a Kind” Ron Jon Surf Shop about a mile south of the historic location. Spread over more than two acres, this is the world’s largest surf shop. More than two million visitors a year come to check out the scene and pick up the latest looks in surf and beach wear. When the surf is up or down, Ron Jon’s is open. The operating hours are 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Lunch is included on this day trip. After dining, take a post-lunch snooze on the sandy beach. You could read a beach book, listen to music, or take a walk along the shore while the water splashes over your feet. If you’re feeling adventurous, rent a surf board and hit the waves. Ron Jon and Cocoa Beach native and surfing legend Kelly Slater would approve.
