Chicago Water Taxi

For fast, fun connections between some of Chicago’s top attractions, purchase a day pass for the city’s water taxi service. You can board the red, white and blue water taxis at five stops throughout the city on both Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. Locations include the Michigan Avenue Bridge, Navy Pier, Museum Campus and the Willis (Sears) Tower. This relaxing mode of transportation lets you explore Chicago while also experiencing both the Chicago River and Lake Michigan!

The Chicago water taxis operate on two routes: the Lake Michigan Route and Chicago River Route.

The Lake Route travels between Navy Pier, a popular family-friendly destination, and Museum Campus, a must-visit area that includes Shedd Aquarium, the Field Museum of Natural History and Adler Planetarium, as well as access to Soldier Field and Northerly Island. The River Route travels between Navy Pier, the Michigan Avenue Bridge and South Wacker Drive, where you can access the Willis (Sears) Tower and Union Station.

Your day pass allows you to transfer freely from one route to the other to get the most out of your Chicago sightseeing experience. To switch between the Lake Route and River Route, transfer at Navy Pier.
