This tour gives you the experience of a lifetime in the 49th state! Travel by deluxe motor coach with an expert guide who will inform and entertain you on this 9-night guided bus trip all around Alaska. Marvel at spectacular mountains and valleys, observe wildlife and sea life in their natural habitats, and view enormous glaciers. On this "Grand Alaska" you visit Valdez, the epicenter of the infamous 1964 earthquake. Then travel to Fairbanks, a modern city with a gold rush past. Tour Denali National Park, home to North America's tallest peak. Your experienced and knowledgeable Alaska guides will make this is truly an incredible Alaska vacation for you.

Day 1: Anchorage Arrival

Arrive into Anchorage and transfer by courtesy shuttle or on your own to the hotel. The day is free for exploring Anchorage or for optional sightseeing tours. Overnight Anchorage.

Day 2: Anchorage to Valdez

This morning after breakfast you will board a deluxe motorcoach for today's travel through the Matanuska Valley to Valdez on one of Alaska's Scenic Byways. Overnight Valdez. (B)

Day 3: Valdez

Cruise today through the majestic Prince William Sound and explore the three-mile face of the mighty Columbia Glacier. Watch for sea lions, whales, sea otters and other marine life. A light lunch is included on this glacier and wildlife cruise. Overnight Valdez. (B, L)

Day 4: Valdez to Fairbanks

Board the motorcoach for the drive north to Fairbanks on the Richardson Highway, the oldest and arguably most scenic of all Alaskan routes. Overnight Fairbanks. (B)

Day 5: Fairbanks

This morning includes a sightseeing tour of the gold mining town of Fairbanks with a stop at the University of Alaska Museum. In the afternoon, cruise the Chena River aboard a classic Sternwheeler. A stop will be made to see a sled dog team, a trapper's cabin, and an historic Native Alaskan settlement. Overnight Fairbanks. (B)

Day 6: Fairbanks to Denali National Park

Relax and enjoy the views as you travel south along the Parks Highway to Denali. The afternoon is free for optional attractions found in the area. Overnight near the Denali park entrance area. (B)

Day 7: Denali National Park

Travel deep into Denali National Park on a bus tour looking for bear, moose, caribou, and sheep. When the weather is good there are several opportunities for views of Denali, the tallest mountain in North America, during your 6 to 8 hour bus tour. Overnight near the Denali park entrance area. (B)

Day 8: Denali National Park to Anchorage

Travel by motorcoach from Denali to Talkeetna this morning. Enjoy time on own to explore the quaint and historic town of Talkeetna. In the afternoon the journey continues south to Anchorage by train on a deluxe dome rail car. On arrival at the Anchorage rail depot, a transfer is provided to the hotel. Overnight Anchorage. (B)

Day 9: Anchorage

Today enjoy a brief sightseeing tour of Anchorage with a visit to the Alaska Native Heritage Center. In the evening, get together for a closing dinner and farewell. Overnight Anchorage. (B, D)

Day 10: Anchorage Departure

Your tour comes to an end with a hotel courtesy transfer to the airport. (B)
