Bermuda Railway Trail Nature Hike and Private Beach Swim

Explore the natural wonders of Bermuda on this delightful island tour that combines a guided nature hike and beach swim. Follow your knowledgeable local guide over flat terrain along the Bermuda Railway Trail, the path of Bermuda's now-defunct railway system, to see gorgeous island views and historical sites. At the end of your hike, dip into the calm waters of a private beach and enjoy a complimentary refreshment to cool off.

Meet your guide at the Dockyard Watersports Centre and enjoy sightseeing in Bermuda’s rural west end on your shuttle ride to Somerset Island. Upon arrival, receive an orientation and safety briefing before commencing your guided nature hike.

Then follow your guide on foot along the original path of the old Bermuda Railway, in use during the 1930s and ‘40s. (The pace of your 1.5- to 2-mile hike along mostly flat ground is adapted to suit the fitness level of the group.) Your guide will stop at various historical points of interest and provide informative commentary about the natural environment. Take in the spectacular scenery along the trail, including historic Fort Scaur and the sprawling 17th-century Mott family estate.

After your hike, cool off with a refreshing swim at a private beach and enjoy a complimentary soft drink!
