Undeground tunnels (Excursion to the Odessa catacombs)

Our beautiful city arranges a lot of interesting excursions, among which there is an excursion to the catacombs. The excursion is rather unique, as only here you will have the opportunity to get to know the most mysterious, intricate and longest (2500 km) underground tunnels. The catacombs keep the evidence and documents of many dramatic and heroic events of different ages. Because of the large territory the catacombs still have a lot of extraordinary and amazing not only for us, but also for researchers. Staying in the underground tunnels causes very strong, real and incomparable emotions. The Odessa catacombs are not just the fist-rate sight and the visiting card of the city, but also the unique historical, geological and paleontological monument.

The Museum of the Odessa Catacombs is situated near Odessa, under the ground and at the bounds of the city (in the Nerubaiske village). During this excursion you will have the opportunity to visit the gallery of the catacombs, where building stone «rakushniak» is produced and to learn everything about the process of the stone production and to see how people lived underground. Also you will find out the legends and tales about the underground world.
