Experience the genuine Summit of Uganda! This Uganda Safari takes you to the majestic Rwenzori Mountains, a true rewarding experience for alpine climbers!

Day 1: Arrival

You will be received by a delegate from Africa Nature Trekkers at the Entebbe International Airport on this exciting Uganda Safari who will transfer you to Kampala and then proceed to Mbarara Town, prior to reaching the foothills of Mountain Rwenzori. Dine and slumber at Hotel Margherita.

Day 2: Start of the Equator Glaciers Tour

In the early morning head to Nyakalengija which is at 1646 meters to begin your climb up the magical mountain. The hike leads you along the serene Mubuku River as well as through the dense equatorial vegetation prior to reaching the Nyabitaba hut at 2650 meters. You might be able to hear chimpanzees or even see the blue-monkeys. Dine and slumber in Nyabitaba hut.
Hiking time: 5 to 7 hours
Rise: 1200 meters

Day 3: John Matte Hut

Following an early breakfast we begin hiking past the Kurt Sharfer Bridge to watch at the radiant river Mubuku confluence. After lunch you will arrive at the Nyamuleju hut and while there you will enjoy spectacular sights of Mount Stanley and Mount Speke. Ascend through the heath-moss forest, open patches and the lobelia, and then continue to John Matte hut at 3415 meters for the night.
Hiking time: 7 hours
Rise: 915 meters

Day 4: Bujuku Hut

Set off early through the large Lobelias plus the heath trees. You will ascend to the spectacular Bigo Bog and picturesque terrain of lobelias and large groundsels. You will hike on past Lake Bujuku, which grandly lies between the well-known mountain ranges. Hike on to a rocky shelter referred to as the Cooking Pot and shortly arrive at the day’s final stop. Dine and sleep at Bujuku Hut which is at 3960 meters.
Hiking time: 3 to 5 hours
Rise: 560 meters

Day 5: Elena Hut

Depart from the mountain valley with attractive sights of alpine vegetation comprised of large Groundsels plus Lobelia and then head on to climb Mount Victoria as well as Mount Speke (4890 meters). Ascend through the gorgeous sights of the Savoia glacier and the Elena glacier; hike on through to the scenic Scott-Elliott Pass trekking through the mountain snow to reach the Elena Hut at 4560 meters for the overnight. You will set your base here at the Elena Hut from which you will final triumph Mountain Rwenzori.
Hiking time: 3 to 5 hours
Rise: 470 meters

Day 6: Final Ascent to the Alps of Africa

Ascend very early in the morning to the icy Alexander peak at 5092 meters and then head to the mountain’s highest peak the renowned Margherita at 5109 meters! From there we will descend to the attractive lake Kitandara for a night at Kitandara hut which is at 4020 meters.
Hiking time: 3 to 5 hours
Rise: 670 meters - decline: 1090 meters

Day 7: Guy Yeoman Hut

climb-Mt-RwenzoriFollowing an early breakfast we shall set out on a long descent. First we ascend from Lake Kitandara up to the Fresh-field Pass and while there gaze into the bordering country; Congo. have a good picnic lunch and then proceed descending up to the Guy Yeoman hut at 3260 meters for dinner as well as the overnight.
Hiking time: 5-7 hours
Decline: 1000 meters

Day 8: Nyabitaba Hut

Today will be the last fraction of our hike! Descend steeply along river Mubuku to join the initial route adjacent to River Bujuku. Dine and slumber at Nyabitaba Hut which is 2650 meters.
Hiking time: 5 to 7 hours
Decline: 600 meters

Day 9: Kasese

We move down for about 2 to 3 hours to Nyakalengija. Then we continue to Kasese and check-in at Hotel Margherita. Here we will unwind as we reflect on our exciting climb to Uganda's highest peak. Dine and slumber at Hotel Margherita.

Day 10: Departure

Filled with exciting unforgettable memories of this Uganda Holiday, you will bid farewell to the Mountains of the Moon and drive back to Kampala. Then continue to Entebbe International Airport to catch the departure flight. Alternatively opt to enjoy Uganda's beauty a little longer as well as visit other spectacular national parks across the country.
End of Adventure!
