Day 1: Arrival at Entebbe
You will be received by a delegate from Africa Nature Trekkers who will transport you to a hotel in the capital Kampala. Basing on arrival time, you might visit UWEC in the afternoon which is habitat to caged animals plus more than 170 bird species among which are seven weaver species like the uncommon northern-Masked Weaver plus Orange Weaver. Dine and slumber at Cassia Lodge.
Day 2: Kampala - Queen Elizabeth National Park
Depart from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park. On the way, stop by the Ugandan equator to take photographs and buy some souvenirs. Following lunch in the town of Mbarara we go on to the Uganda’s southwest towards the stunning Western Rift Valley. on arrival in the beautiful Queen Elizabeth National Park you will go for a thrilling game drive in the evening before checking-in at your accommodation within the park. Dine and slumber at Jacana Safari Lodge.
Day 3: Queen Elizabeth National Park Birding
Begin the day early for a game drive through the northern region of this park. The park not only offers exceptional game viewing however it also offers a lot for birders. We will drive through the large open grass plains which are habitat to huge flocks of Abdims as well as White Stork and the amazing Saddle-Billed Stork particularly in the migratory season. Raptors common among which are the Brown-Snake Eagle, Bateleur, Marsha Eagle, Whalbergs Eagle, Grey Kestrel and African-harrier-hawk.
After lunch we take an exciting boat launch to see hundreds of hippopotami, elephants plus several migratory birds, like the Grey-headed Gulls, African-skimmers, White-winged black-Terns, Pink & white -Backed Pelicans, Morning Dove and the Water Dikkops among others. Dine and slumber at Jacana Safari Lodge.
Day 4: Queen Elizabeth Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
From Queen Elizabeth National Park we head to the “Little Switzerland of Uganda” watching some wild animals and bird on the way out of the park. On arrival you will marvel at Lake Bunyonyi which is Uganda’s deepest lake located adjacent to the borders. On a clear day you will catch sight of the marvelously shaped volcano; Mt Muhavura. At the renowned “Lake-of-the-small-birds” you will find a motor boat waiting to transfer you to Bushara Island. Dine and slumber at Bushara Island Camp.
Day 5: Lake Bunyonyi Birding
Following breakfast you may hire a local canoe to explore the environs while on water. Float quietly to the various small islands as you enjoy the prolific bird life. Return for lunch and head to Mukoni Village for a Bird Walk. You will walk past tiny farms and pleasure in the impressive view as you search for various bird species. in general you may see close to 50 diverse bird species on this thrilling walk, among which will be the Swamp Flycatcher, African Hobby, Bronze-chested Sunbirds, Scarlet-chested, the White-head Saw-wing, Red-chested Sunbirds Black Kite. Dine and slumber at Bushara Island Camp.
Day 6: Lake Bunyonyi - Transfer to Kampala
On having breakfast we drive back to Kampala having lunch on the way. This drive goes for close to 7 hours through the green beautiful countryside. We arrive late in the afternoon in capital Kampala. Dine and slumber at Cassia Lodge.
Day 7: Departure
Filled with splendid memories of the wonderful experience you had through this Uganda Safari, you will bid goodbye to Uganda -‘the Pearl of Africa’. Basing on the schedule of your departure flight, you will be escorted to Entebbe International Airport to catch your. We at Africa Nature Trekkers looking forward to having you again!
