Upon afternoon arrival into Izmir, (ancient Smyrna) our tour representative will meet the group and transfer us to the hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure.DAY 3Izmir – Pergamum, Thyatira
Today’s touring in ancient Pergamum (Bergsma)-center of rule for the Roman Empire. Sights include the Aesclepion, an ancient healing center, the acropolis with its pagan temples and Altar of Zeus (some call the throne of Satan) and the Temple of Trajan. Pastor Mark will open the tour with his first teaching on this site. After lunch, we will continue on to Thyatira, smallest of the Seven Churches of which John writes in Revelations. Dinner and Overnight in Izmir.DAY 4Izmir – Philadelphia, Sardis
Early morning start takes us to Philadelphia (Alasehir) the church that (kept the faith), and Sardis, capital of the Lydian Kingdom, and the first cityy to use coins of gold and silver. Our visit in Sardis will take us to the amazing ruins of the Temple of Artemis, the picturesque gymnasium, and the synagogue with intact mosaic tile artwork. Return to Izmir for dinner and Overnight.DAY 5Izmir – Hierapolis, Laodicea
Today we will travel to ancient Laodicea, a city know for its riches, development of medicines and where church was known for being ‘’lukewarm in belief’’. Take a short drive to Hierapolis visiting the vast, ancient necropolis (burial grounds), large amphitheater, St. Philip’s Church, and famed Roman baths. The white travertine falls and hot springs of Pamukkale are a beautiful secret of nature that will enjoy today. Pastor Mark will teach in the Laodicea amphitheatre. We will return for dinner and overnight in Izmir.DAY 6Izmir — Ephesus
Morning teaching by Pastor Mark focuses our hearts and minds as today we walk the massive ruin of ancient Ephesus ‘’the church that has left their first love’’. Walking the great, marble Ephesian road will take us by the Church of the Virgin Mary-the site of the council of Ephesus-the great amphitheatre where the rioters against Paul cried, ‘’Great is the Diana of Ephesians’’’ the spectacular and famous Celsus Library, the Agora (marketplace) and the city bath ruins. The remainder of the day will be spent at leisure-swimming in the blue Aegean Sea, relaxing on the beach or by the pool, or staying back at Ephesus and exploring on your own. Evenning teaching by Pastor Mark will be amazing! Overnight in Izmir.DAY 7Izmir — Kusadasi
This morning we will depart for Izmir for our Istanbul Domestic flight to follow our Tour Programm as in the Itineary.DAY 7Izmir – Domestic Flight — Istanbul
Short morning flight to Istanbul followed by a visit to the church of St. Saviour in Chora, a beautiful Byzantine church decorated with magnificent mosaics and frescoes. Check in the Hotel for dinner and overnight. Free time this evenning for enjoying the city on your own.DAY 8Istanbul
Begin the day with a visit to the Blue Mosque – whose 6 minarets dominate the hippodrome skyline – and Hagia Sophia (Aya sofya), for 1000 years, the greatest church in Christendom and an architectural wonder built by the Byzantine Empire to impress the World! Topkapi Palace Museum, the former residence of the Ottoman sultanas and a miniature city in itself, will complete our day of touring. During the day we will enjoy a teaching from Pastor Mark in a special location. This will be a truly unforgettable teaching..DAY 9Istanbul
Special touring today includes a cruise on the Bosphorus – the narrow strait linking the Black Sea to the Sea of Marmara and separating Europe and Asia. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the bustling strait as you view palaces, small villages, and the Golden Horn. Enjoy Taksim Square, the heart of modern Istanbul, as you walk the pedestrian Street enjoying shops, restaurants, and vendors. Return for more browsing and shopping in the Grand Bazaar, the Spice Market, or head out on your own for other sites of the city..DAY 10Departure – Istanbul/Home
