Ephesus/St.John/House of Mary/Archaeoulgical Museum/Temple of Artemis

Ephesus : was being excavated since 1880's by Austuran & Turkish archaeologists. Uncovered are:Grand Theater, Library of Celsus, Marble Street, Commercial Agora, Terrace Houses,Temples of Hadrian and Domisianus, Monumental public Fauntains, Roman Baths etc. all to be visited.Approx. stay 2 hrs.

House of Mary: Discovered by French Ministers in 19.Cent at 5 kms from Ephesus. Opened for visits after restoration in 1951 for pilgrimage. It is now a place of worship for Christians.

St John's Tomb: Located near Selcuk. To be visited his tomb and chapelle & Basilica errected on the tomb on the order of Justinen, Byzantine emperor in the 6.cent.

Archaeological Museum: Small museum housing valuable objects from Ephesus displaced in 6 rooms and its courtyard. Visit completes the visit of Ephesus.

Temple of Artemis: Once one of the seven wonders of ancient world dating back to 3000 b.c. and dedicated to Cheif Anatolian Godess. Rebuilt with auspices of Alexander the great in 334 b.c. which was surrounded by 127 Ionic coloumns.
