Visit the site of one of the bloodiest battles of WWI, where hundreds of thousands of men fought during over nine months. Such was the carnage at Gallipoli that it has become a defining moment in the histories of Australia and New Zealand, which lost more than 10,000 men between them. Following an early morning departure from your hotel, we’ll drive about five hours along the Dardanelles and arrive to Eceabat where we have lunch. After eating, we’ll head to Gelibolu National Park. We will visit the Kabatepe War Museum, the Beach Cemetery to see John Simpson´s grave, Anzac Cove, Ari Burnu, site of the first Anzac landing, Lone Pine Cemetery, site of the Australian memorial, Johnston´s Jolly for a walk in the Anzac trenches, Shrapnel Valley, site of the Turkish memorial, the Nek and Walker’s Ridge, and Chunuk Bair, where the main New Zealand memorial is located. Following this emotional and poignant tour, we’ll return to Istanbul.
