Anamur

Anamur has mutated from the Greek «Anemourion» meaning «windmill». It is a small city in the very south of Turkey, only a few kilometres from Turkey's southernmost point (that is where Anemurium ancient city is located). The Pentadactylos Mountain range of Cyprus, 40 miles off-shore, is visible from Anamur on clear days. Anamur is one of Turkey's two banana-producing regions (the other is Alanya). It's a beautiful resort with great sandy beaches. It's a popular tourist destionation with many important historical sights.
