MONDAY: Azuaje, discovering the hidden valley. Azuaje is a fertile valley located on the north of the Island. The route follows most of the time the course of a stream located on the middle of 100 meters’ walls. The stream keeps the dense vegetation of the ravine and also the many endemic plants of the valley. You will have the feeling of experiencing a real adventure when trekking in Azuaje.
TUESDAY: The Way to Artenara, the 100 valleys viewpoint. The way to Artenara offers impressive views over the west range mountains of Gran Canaria. You will enjoy specially ot the fantastic views over Roque Nublo, Roque Bentaiga and the Acusa Valley. A stop at the Cuevas Caballero will give us the chance to see signs carved by the Canariis, the old Gran Canaria's inhabitants. You will cross a pine forest and will enjoy (if the clouds allow it) the best views over Mount Teide (Tenerife). The route finishes in a charming little town: Artenara.
WEDNESDAY: Roque Nublo, route to the heart of Gran Canaria. The Roque Nublo is a place that you must visit while in Gran Canaria. It is a symbol for the Island. The landscape around it is grandiose. This walking route becomes one of the most interesting ones when hiking in Gran Canaria. This walking route runs through some of the most impressive landscapes of the Gran Canaria Biosphere Reserve. You will enjoy, all over the way, of the spectacular views over the valleys and mountains of the west side of the Island. Most of the time this path passes between endemic plant species such as the Canarian pine trees.
THURSDAY: Way to Valsendero, the enchanted forest route. This route starts following a path which is on the edge of the Caldera de Tejeda. It offers wonderful views over two natural icons of Gran Canaria: Roque Nublo and Roque Bentaiga, which stand out over a landscape full of mountains and valleys. You will walk near Montañón Negro, where took place the last volcanic eruption in Gran Canaria. From this point you enter in a landscape that could be fairy tale scenery: trees with ghostly shapes and corners of idyllic beauty. The water and humidity offer this valley a very special character.
FRIDAY: Caldera de Bandama, the Volcano and wine route. On this guided route you will descend 200 meters to the bottom of the crater. On the way down you will feel that you are entering in an isolated world, where the air, the sounds, the vegetation and the whole life has its own pace. When you reach the bottom of the crater you will feel small. The surrounding crater walls are impressive. After walking along the perimeter of the volcano, we will visit a winery, where you will taste the wines produced on the area on volcanic ash.
