Valencia City

Valencia is Spain's third most important city and an extensive programme of urban regeneration and the construction of the City of Art and Science, Europe's largest cultural complex have put this cosmopolitan, sophisticated city firmly on the map. In this full day guided tour you will visit all the city's main monuments and attractions and then in the afternoon you will also have plenty of time to explore this fascinating town at your leisure.

First we'll visit the Fallas Museum. These larger than life Styrofoam puppets steal the show in Valencia during the annual spring festival known as "Las Fallas". These colorful caricatures get burned at the end of the festivities and only one is saved from death by the flames and exhibited in the Fallas Museum, the first stop on your city trip.

Valencia has been renowned for its ceramic production since Islamic times and our next stop is a visit to the National Ceramics Museum. You'll find an amazing variety of pottery and brightly coloured tiles known as azulejos, in the sumptuous setting of the baroque palace of the Marquis of Dos Agues

The morning will end with a tour of the heart of this beautiful city, visiting the magnificent Cathedral, elegant palaces, the impressive old city gates, the old silk exchange and the bustling Central Market. Enjoy the thronging plazas and the narrow streets of the old town. Then in the afternoon you'll have plenty of time to explore for yourself. The city has some excellent shops, in the area around the Plaça Colom you'll find all the top international brands as well as many small independent boutiques.

And no day in Valencia would be complete without a visit to the amazing City of Arts and Sciences, the largest cultural complex in Europe. This 35,000m² futuristic masterpiece will overwhelm you with its sleek lines and modern design. A perfect place to end a perfect day.
