Morocco is separated from Spain by just 14km of sea along the Straits of Gibraltar but they might as well be oceans apart as you will discover during this four-day tour of Morocco.
The itinerary takes in the vibrant and colourful cities of Fez, Meknes, Rabat and Tangier but you will also pass through dramatic landscapes as the coach travels between the four.
Once we have made the ferry journey to Africa, we will head for Fez, where you will spend the first two days. You’ll visit its most alluring attractions, with guided tours of the elaborately decorated royal palace, famed for its golden doors, the old Christian and Jewish quarters and the charmingly chaotic Medina, the labyrinthine old town where you will really feel the cultural differences with Europe.
On day three, we will drive to the ancient city of Meknes, which has Unesco World Heritage Medina packed with gems of intricate Arabesque architecture.
From Meknes it will be on to Rabat, the capital of Morocco, and then on to lively city of Tangier, which was itself a part of Spain until 1956 and was even an English colony for 23 years in the 17th century. Tangier also boasts a fascinating Medina. The fourth day will be a free day in the city, from which you will return by ferry to Spain.
The tour departs every Wednesday all year round, with accommodation provided in four-star hotels. Included are guides, lodgings, transportation, daily breakfast, one lunch and two dinners.
