Depart by bus to Taganana, passing the fishing village of San Andres and enjoying eye-popping views over Las Teresitas beach – a dazzling curve of white sands clasped between the Agana mountains and Atlantic. Continuing up a twisty mountain road, you'll travel through epic forests and peaks before dropping down to the hamlet of Taganana. With its sugar-cube houses speckling steep green slopes, this remote seaside village is one of Tenerife's oldest. Here, there's free time to stroll around the quaint streets.
We continue heading to Las Mercedes. The country roads lead you through the bowels of forests populated by species of the Tertiary Period, through the laurel and dodging deep ravines. Stop in «Pico del Ingles», with the best views of the north and south
side of the island. Our last stop is La Laguna. The city was declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1999 and was the ancient capital of Tenerife. It is considered to be the cultural capital of Canaires. You will walk in the path of a sixteenth-century city. The configuration of the streets of the historic center of La Laguna, which was defined at that time, has hardly been modified since then.
Buildings have been lost along the way, new ones have appeared and some have been remodeled, but the skeleton of the city, its streets and corners, remains. After this you will drive back to the port of Santa Cruz.
Note: Guests must be able to walk approximately 1.6 kilometres (1.5 hours) over uneven surfaces, inclines and a few steps.
Windjacket and comfortable walking shoes are recommended.
