Day 1: Arrival
After your arrival in Malaga we will drive about 1:30h to Granada to our Hotel in the city center. After a short break in the Hotel we will explore Granada by foot, see the historical center, the famous quarters of Albayzin and Sacromonte and enjoy the panoramic view from San Nicolas Place over the Alhambra in front of the snowed Mountains of Sierra Nevada.
In the evening you will have supper in a typical Tapas-Bar, offering infinite specialties of the local kitchen.

Day 2: Granada and the Alhambra Palace
This morning is exclusively reserved to the “must-see” of Andalusia: the Alhambra and its Arabic palaces. The fortified Village (the “Medina”), the Castle and the Puppet-house –like Sultans palaces let you remind the 1001 Night-tales and introduces you to the 800 years lasting Moorish history of the south of Spain.
The afternoon we take the highway to Almería, we cross grand variety of landscapes as the northern- like cedar and pine forests of Huetor-Sierra, the sandstone canyons with infinite little cave houses of Guadix and the desert of Tabernas which has been a famous Film Spot of Italo-Western in the ´70th , before we finally reach the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata and San José.
You are lodged in the “Hotel Agades” which is a small, charming, family-owned Hotel 300m from the beach. All rooms are equipped with bath, heating, air condition and Sat-TV.
The village of San José is located in the center of the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Nijar, provided with a marina and all essential services as Banks, Pubs, Restaurants and a variety of shops.

Day 3: The Salinas of Cabo de Gata and the Cliff Coast
As a first approach to the Nature Park of Cabo de Gata we first stop in the Visitors Center of the Natural Park to get information about the Ecosystem of the semi-desert and birdlife of Cabo de Gata. The artificial salt marches “Salinas” of Cabo de Gata are one of the breeding sites of Flamingoes in Europe, usually you can see plenty of them in the Salinas or nearby in a natural Wady-Lagoon. We follow the route right to the Cap of Cabo de Gata where the road is shut for vehicles and you can have a very nice panoramic walk through a specially protected area down to the virgin beaches, where you are picked up by our Microbus.

Day 4: The House of the Volcanoes and the Goldmines of Rodalquilar.
The House of the volcanoes introduces in the geological history and the mostly volcanic and underwater origin of the area and its mineralogical fame given by the Gold and Potassium-Alum-Mines. After the visit we make a 4 Hours walk through an African like landscape and cross the shut down Gold mines of Rodalquilar.

Day 5: The cliffs and virgin coves of Cabo de Gata
This is probably the most emblematic tour of Cabo de Gata. After crossing the Beach of San Jose you enjoy the panoramic view over the bay of Genoveses, a big volcanic caldera with 1,5Km of sandy beach in a Mexican like environment with cactus and agaves. Crossing the beach and a little mountain chain you will reach small virgin coves which only are accessible by foot or boat. For those who prefer to stay in the coves for the day we arrange a meeting point while the hikers go back crossing the old semi arid farms of the backland returning to San Jose.

Day 6: Almería (The last three days are the same in Program 1. Hiking… and 2. Excursions…)
On our tour through the historical city of Almeria which has been one of the last refuges of the Moors in Spain you see the particular fortified late-gothic Cathedral and visit the “Alcazaba” – the Arabic fortress of Almeria which offers an infinite panoramic view over the golf of Almeria and the city. Walking down to the city center youoptionally may want to spend the rest of the morning in a relaxing Arabic-bath, the “Hammam” “ Aire de Almería” is a recovered historic bath making you enjoy the benefits of a thousand-year-old tradition across the senses.
If you prefer to keep on exploring the historical city you may follow the guided tour through the classic shopping quarter of the city and visit the Olive Oil Museum to see the historic art to extract the juice of Olive fruit and taste a variety of olive oil.
For lunch we rejoin the group and have some “tapas” which is a variety of little dishes of the local kitchen in a typical Tapas-Bar.

Day 7: Malaga (The last two days are the same in all programs.)
You´ll reach Malaga before midday and enjoy the vivid city-center. We recommend the visit to the Picasso-Museum or the natal house of the artist where the Picasso-foundation offers several collections.
