Montserrat is a spectacularly beautiful Benedictine monk mountain retreat to North West of Barcelona.

Not only is Montserrat Monastery of significant religious importance but the natural beauty surrounding the monastery is simply breathtaking.

A site of pilgrimage for centuries, the story of Montserrat is a story of miracles performed by the Virgin Mary. On this half-day tour, a private guide will explain the history and cultural significance of the monastery, as well as the geology of the natural park.

Visit the Basilica to see the fabled 12th-century image of Our Lady of Montserrat, a truly beautiful Romanesque polychrome carving. So revered is the “Dark One” that Pope Leo XIII proclaimed her Patron Saint of Catalonia in 1881. While touring the complex, you will get to hear the famous choir of one of the most prestigious children's choirs in Europe.

You'll take a funicular Santa Cova to the top of the mountain and have a walk, all with amazing views of the Catalonian countryside.
