ome and spend a great day on the fascinating island of Tabarca, the only inhabited island on the Costa Blanca. Board the Sea World in the port of Benidorm and enjoy great views of the coast and the breathtaking Benidorm skyline as we head southwards towards the island of Tabarca, just off the town of Santa Pola on the Spanish mainland. Relax in the sun and enjoy the sea breeze as you sip on a cool drink.
Once we disembark there's plenty to see and do. Relax on the beach or do some snorkelling. The waters around Tabarca form part of a Marine Nature Reserve with varied marine fauna - if you're lucky you may spot sea bass, grouper, conger eel, gilthead bream. The island is extremely flat and at the western extreme you'll find a fortified settlement, originally founded by King Carlos III in 1760 to rehouse Genoese refugees from the twin island of Tabarka in Tunisia. Visit the old fort, the Church of San Pedro and San Pablo and maybe enjoy a leisurely meal in one of the town's many excellent fish restaurants before boarding the Sea Word for the cruise back to Benidorm.
