You won't find any bulls’ heads, fancy fans, or tacky prints of bullfighters here. Las Carboneras has revitalized the concept of the flamenco bar. The decoration is different, the cuisine is different, but the artistry remains unchanged. This popular spot, which opened 11 years ago on the ground floor of the Conde de Miranda palace near the Plaza Mayor, offers live daily performances of flamenco singing, dancing and guitar.
Las Carboneras is located in the heart of old Madrid, just off the Plaza Mayor in the Palace of the Conde de Miranda. It aims to recover the style of old cafés cantantes of the late 19th Century, combining ultra-modern décor and cuisine with the best of contemporary flamenco. Many top artists have performed here, including singers, musicians and dancers. The venue is also home to art exhibitions related to flamenco.
Sit back and enjoy the show as you savour a meal consisting of traditional and contemporary Spanish delicacies. Choose from a first course of a salad of faux elvers, pine nuts with port, artichokes with serrano ham and feta cheese or scrambled eggs with salt cod. Second courses include tenderloin steak in watercress sauce, salmon in cream of asparagus, magret of duck Carboneras style. Dessert of your choice.
