Guided tour: City Center and Albayzín

Explore Granada, one of the world's most romantic cities, in this two hour walking tour around well-preserved centre of this historic town. Stroll around lively streets and discover sleepy plazas and alleys where time seems to have stood still. The tour is centred around the historic core of the city where you will learn all about the fascinating blend of Islam and Christian architecture.

After meeting your knowledgeable local guide we'll explore the area around the Cathedral, many built after the Christian conquest of the city; you'll see the impressive Cathedral, a masterpiece of the Spanish Renaissance, the Royal Chapel, built by the Catholic Monarchs over the terrace of the former Great Mosque, the old Market Exchange and the Royal Chancery.

We'll then pass down the Gran Via with its modernist buildings dating from the nineteenth century as we head for the old Moorish quarter of the Albayzin. This UNESCO-listed World Heritage Site is a maze of narrow streets and alleys with quaint whitewashed houses and colourful displays of flowers as well as unforgettable views up to the Alhambra and the distant Sierra Nevada mountains.
