Artistic Barcelona: Gaudí, Modernism and Gothic

Take this fully-guided afternoon tour and discover the fabulous architectural work of Catalan genius Antoni Gaudí. Barcelona, where the famous architect lived and worked is known as the capital of Modernisme and contains some of Gaudí’s most iconic works. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local guide, you will be invited first of all to admire some of the architect’s most emblematic works on the Passeig de Gràcia, Casa Mila, also known as "La Pedrera", and Casa Batlló. Then you will visit the Parc Güell, large gardens where the genius achieved a seamless integration of architecture in nature, recently declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Then you will head to the Cathedral of the Sagrada Familia, Gaudi's unfinished masterpiece and one of the most universal sites of Catalan culture and international architecture. In the Sagrada Familia’s museum you will be able to see sketches, photographs and plaster models of the history and development of this basilica from its origins to the present. The museum also offers valuable information on the life and work of Gaudí. Finally, you will visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Mar, the only major completely finished Catalan Gothic Church. The tour ends near the Picasso Museum, which displays works of the famous painter from his Blue and Pink periods. You can choose to go back to the coach or visit the museum (you will have to pay the entrance fee), returning on your own. You should not miss the opportunity to see the precious legacy of this great artist.
