This comprehensive San Sebastián experience offers the perfect combination of sightseeing and time at leisure. The activities are available all three days to accommodate your schedule. The below itinerary is simply an example of how you could allocate your time and choose activities.
Day 1:
Ditch the bags and check into your hotel so you can explore San Sebastián’s streets unencumbered. Bring a hearty appetite for a culinary tour of Basque Country’s signature cuisine of pintxos, shareable bites often paired with drinks. You’ll meander from one restaurant to the next, exploring San Sebastián’s storied streets with the help of your provided road book and dossier filled with potential routes, historical lore and architectural facts.
If you fall in love with one charming eatery, enjoy your fill of eight pintxos and four drinks in one gustatory go. If you’re craving more variety, spread them out over multiple stops to stretch out your night. Once you’re stuffed, stroll back to the hotel as night falls, stopping along the water to take in the sparkling reflection of the city lights on the ocean.
Overnight: 3-star Hotel Codina or similar
Day 2: (B)
Get an early start with breakfast at your hotel, and prepare for a full day of sightseeing around the coastal community. Hop aboard a double-decker bus using your hop-on hop-off pass. The ticket is valid for 24 hours, making it a relaxed way to discover the highlights of Basque Country’s crown jewel. Explore the architectural beauty of the Miramar and Justice Palaces, wander through the Alderi-Eder gardens and take in the other sights of San Sebastián at your own pace. See the full list of stops in the Itinerary section below.
Want a more in-depth look at this bustling port city? Choose between admission to one of the city's two finest institutions. If you prefer marine life, walk through an underwater tunnel filled with fish and sharks at San Sebastián’s Aquarium. If your tastes lean more towards creative pursuits, take in more than 2,600 pieces of art in San Telmo Museum’s collection. Located in the oldest part of the city, the recently renovated 16th-century Dominican monastery houses an array of archeology, fine art, ethnography and more. Finish the day with the rest of your bus tour, or continue your sampling of local cuisine with any remaining pintxos or drinks from the previous night.
