I am a big admirer of Russian history, and I can tell you since time immemorial Russia has been fighting with someone non-stop. On this tour, we’ll talk about two most tragic wars: 1812 war with Napoleon and WWII.

Soviet Union:

1710 cities and 70 000 villages destroyed

600 German divisions destroyed

Battle for Moscow — the most massive fight in WWII (1.250 mln people taking part, 514 000 dead (partisans are not counted))

Leningrad siege lasted 900 days

Stalingrad and Kursk battles broke strategic initiative of German and became turning point in war

Brest fortress stood on the defensive for the whole months, while some European countries capitulated in several days
