Baikal's Retreat

One and a half hour drive from Ulan-Ude takes you to the whitening walls of the Posol’sky monastery founded more than three centuries ago. They called it “the shield of Russia” and “the Christianity stronghold” at that time. We suggest to walk along the windswept shore of Lake Baikal , to try the famous omul-fish for lunch and to visit the glorious Transfiguration Church of the monastery.

As we go along to Baikal we make a stop to visit the fish farm.
