Medieval to Cellars

The tour starts on the medieval town of Óbidos. Witness to centuries of history through the historical and religious heritage, the town of Óbidos was taken from the Moors by King Afonso Henriques in 1148, and given the Letter of Provincial Council in 1195. This place was usually offered by the Portuguese monarchs to their future wives as a wedding present. Here you can see the beautiful landscapes that can be seen from its walls, walk through the medieval streets and admire the houses.

After visiting Óbidos, we follow to Carvalhal. Here we will visit the Buddha Eden Garden — Garden of Peace, designed and conceived for the protection of the Giant Buddhas of Bamyan, against one of the greatest acts of cultural barbarism that tended to erase the memory of the masterpieces of art distant period of Gandhara.

The West is an excellent wine-producing region. To taste some of the many domestic wines produced with international recognition in this region, we will visit the famous Quinta do Sanguinhal, which gives us a pleasant visit through the vineyard and wine.
