Level of difficulty: beginners
Accessible route, made mostly taken on the terrace of the Serra do Faial, which is protected by natural fences and balconies. Some places have to have a special care due to the uneven floor and a bit slippery and wet at times. The descent to Portela is made by a path until you reach the road Portela which is about 4km from the Levada da Serra do Faial, the floor is in good condition and the descent is very marked.
