By the Atlantic Coast

The tour starts at Lagoa de Óbidos. This lagoon is formed by the entrance of the sea across the beach of Foz Arelho. It has about 6.9km2 and an average depth of 2 meters.

Following the Atlantic road, where we see a unique perspective of the Portuguese coast, we reach toS. Martinho do Porto — a small village, who was an ancient village resort, known for its bay with a perfect shell. Here, we will visit the sights that give us a perspective on the magnificent bay and the lighthouse which is situated at the entrance of the bar where we can admire the Atlantic Ocean.

Continuing the journey along the sea coast, we will go towards Nazaré, a picturesque fishing village where time has not erased the roots. Sítio da Nazaré is the main point of attraction of the village, not only for the historic and the legendary place, but also by the spectacular viewpoint that provides a glimpse of one of the most beautiful maritime landscapes in the region.
The promontory that protects the entire beach has at its extreme the Forte de São Miguel Arcanjo, a privileged viewpoint of the sea and to the famousPedra do Guilhim.

Finally, following the way ofPraia do Norte, we will pass many other beaches with beautiful sceneries, getting to Praia da Vieira. This is an old fishermen's beach, where you can observe the practice the old fishing art of Arte Xávega.
