6-Hour Shore Tour of Lisbon - Culture and Attractions

● Experience this tour through the eyes of an expert/official Portuguese guide that goes with you inside the monuments and museums. Unlike many other suplliers, we don´t simply drive our visitors to the monuments and leave them outside. For that reason our tours have a  high cost–benefit ratio.

Admire the Belém Tower, a Lisbon landmark and UNESCO World Heritage site on the Tejo River. See a commemorative replica of the airplane flown by Gago Coutinho and Sacadura Cabral, two Portuguese pilots who undertook the first transatlantic flight in 1922. Visit the Monument to the Discoveries. Built in 1960, the monument is 60 meters high and was a gift from the Republic of South Africa. It has 30 larger-than-life statues honoring Portuguese seamen, as well as a marble world map and compass rose.

Stroll across Empire Square to the Jerónimos Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage site, and tour the church. Let yourself be seduced by the aroma of the famous pasteis de Belém, small puff pastries with pudding-like filling, a typical Lisbon specialty. Ride through several of Lisbon’s picturesque quarters to the Pombaline neighborhood, Baixa.

At Rossio Square, you have 1.5 hours to do as you please. Explore the historical trade district. A ride in the Santa Justa elevator (built in a style inspired by Gustav Eiffel in 1902) and a visit to the Cafe Brasileira are musts. The tour culminates in a ride in the famous Streetcar 28 through the narrow alleys of Alfama, the oldest quarter of Lisbon.
