Torun private tour - a touch of gothic

Torun is a jewel. Such can be the most succinct description of this unique town.

Torun is one of very few towns in Poland that was not destroyed during the Second World War. And as such - it guarantees the same spirit as in the former times.

It also is known as the place where the famous astronomer - Nicolaus Copernicus was born.

Its history can be shortened to a few sentences: established by the Teutons, flourished during the Golden Ages within the Polish Kingdom, and then taken from Poland during Partitions, returned to Poland after WWI.

But Torun is about more than splendid history - now it is a city of a well-known University, and one of the Polish UNESCO sites.

Generally Torun is called the quintessence of gothic.

And - also Torun is famous for its ... gingerbread.

Museum entrance fees - each 10 PLN/person, there also is a possibility to buy a ticket for 15PLN/person - for two departments of the City Museum. The fee for entering the St. Johns' Church is rather a symbolic payment (as well as for taking photos inside). The costs of lunch in the town varies - from 17 PLN 60 PLN (depending on the restaurant). Toilets are paid - from 1,5 PLN to 2,5 PLN
