Your exploration begins at the Huaca Rajada archaeological complex This a set of enormous mud-brick truncated pyramids that are partially destroyed due to harsh weather conditions over many centuries. The site made it to the headlines in 1987 when a graverobbery at that location was reported to Walter Alva, then director of the Brünning Museum in Lambayeque. The well executed protection plan ended with the discovery of the grave of the Lord of Sipan, one of the most impressive pre-Hispanic burials in the Americas. Visit the site museum for a complete understanding of the site before being transferred back to your hotel."
