Day 1: Lima-Iquitos-Jungle Lodge (L.D)

AM Greet and meet by local tour operator staff at the Iquitos airport.
AM Sightsee the city of Iquitos along the way to the river wharf.
AM Board the motorboat to the jungle lodge on the river wharf.
AM Boat ride on the Nanay and Amazon rivers will allow you to see impressive jungle landscapes and picturesque riverside towns.
AM Arrive in the jungle lodge where the staff will welcome you with a tropical fruit drink
AM Visit a native community where you will learn about their lifestyle, customs, dancing and handcrafts.
PM Lunch at the jungle lodge.
PM Guided jungle trail hike around the lodge where you will see diverse botanical species. You will also see different bird species and possibly small monkeys.
PM Return to the lodge on time to see the Amazon Sunset.
PM Evening boat ride to enjoy the awesome nocturnal sounds of the jungle.
PM Dinner.

Day 2: Jungle Lodge (B.L.D)

AM Early morning birdwatching aong the river.
Breakfast at the jungle lodge.
AM Piranha fishing and Pink River Dolphin in the morning.
Return to the Jungle Lodge for lunch.
PM You may also see the giant Victoria Regia (Giant Water Lily) on an oxbow lake when the water level is high.
PM Evening walk around the lodge to look for tarantulas, fire flies, bats and other jungle nocturnal creatures.
PM Dinner at the lodge.

Day 3: Jungle Lodge (B.L.D)

AM Breakfast at the Jungle Lodge.
AM Visit to a riverside village.
AM Visit a local sugar cane squeeze where you will learn about the process of making aguardiente liquor and taste freshly squeezed sugar cane juice.
PM Lunch at the lodge.
PM Afternoon at leisure to hike along a jungle trail or to swim or paddle canoe in a calm part of the river.
PM Dinner at the lodge.

Day 4: Jungle Lodge-Iquitos-Lima (B.L)

AM Breakfast at the jungle lodge.
AM Visit an animal rescue center where you will see many of the most representative Amazon rainforest wildlife species rescued from illegal pet trading.
PM Lunch at the jungle lodge.
PM Transfer by boat to Iquitos wharf and by car to the airport according to your return flight schedule.
