This trip is perfect for travelers seeking an active vacation as well as one that incorporates all the key sites . The first day is spent in Lima where you can visit the town square and experience the night life. We tour the sites and ruins of Cusco and the Sacred Valley. The next leg of the trip is an 80km downhill bike ride from Cusco to Abra del Malaga (13,050ft) to Santa Maria. We spend the next two days following Inca pathways through the jungle before arriving in Aguas Calientes. Optional Zip line and rafting are possible. The final day is spent enjoying Machu Picchu before you head back to Cusco and depart for Lima.

Day 1

We will pick you from your flight at Lima airport and shuttle you to your hotel where you can spend the rest of the day exploring the city or resting. You have the option of going out with the group to explore the main square and experience some of Peru’s nightlife.

Day 2

The day commences with the flight to Cusco and after getting situated in your hotel you can participate in a tour of the city which includes a visit the Temple of the Sun and the Sacsayhuaman fortress overlooking the city.

Day 3

You tour the area around Cusco including stops at Pisac, Ollantaytambo, Urubamba and Chinchero. However as per your interest this may be modified as lots of interesting places are available to visit including the ruins of Moray or the salt flats of Maras. Transportation is by bus and the overnight is in Cusco.

Day 4

We pick you up from the hotel and travel 150km from Cusco to Abra del Malaga (13,050ft) where we begin an 80km downhill bike ride to "Santa Maria". The bike ride offers great views of the snow capped peaks of Veronica. Santa Maria is in the high jungle and is the stop for the night.

Day 5

The day is spent hiking an Inca pathway through the jungle. It offers great opportunities for viewing wildlife and views of the river and surrounding peaks. We end the day near the hot springs of Ullumire where you can relax and take a hot bath. We spend the night in nearby Santa Teresa(5,700 ft).

Day 6

Another day of trekking but with the option for a zip line trip across the river and to view the colorful cactus as you hike through Oroyas. The day ends at Aguas Calientes where you will spend the night.

Day 7

This morning you wake up early to board one of the first buses up to Machu Picchu. Once up at the ruins you'll catch a beautiful sunrise over the site and you can participate in a tour in which all of the buildings of the site are explained. The rest of the day is free to explore before we depart in the late afternoon via train back to your hotel at Cusco.

Day 8

We will pick you up from your hotel and drop you at the airport for a connecting flight to Lima. If your flight is in the evening please advise us and we will schedule some programs for the day.
