Lord of Sipan Museum

Your tour starts heading in direction of the town of Lambayeque where visiting the Royal Tombs Museum is a must. The discovery of the Lord of Sipan, whose importance is illustrated by the complexity of the burial and his semi-divine status, lead to the creation of a new museum to display the finds. After recovering, researching and restoring the archaeological items involved, the Royal Tombs Museum opened to the general public. It now stands as a one of its kind given that the entire building exhibits merely two ritual burial sites. This is a clear indication of the dimensions and splendour of the Lord in former times. There is enough time to visit local handicrafts producers before being transferred back to your hotel.
