Visit Plaza San Martin (San Martin Square), which is bordered by the Colon Theater and is home to many gardens and monuments celebrating Jose de San Martin, a leader in South America's independence from Spain. Make your way to Plaza de Armas (Parade Ground), the city center's main square.
