Colonial & Modern Lima + Larco Herrera Museum

This tour pick you up on a private transportation to the city of Lima. Arrive at the Plaza de Armas, where Lima was founded first as "The City of Kings" in 1535 and then as capital of the Republic of Peru, in 1821, the year of independence. You will get to know the Presidential Palace, the Cathedral of Lima, and to visit the Casa Aliaga, an old colonial house delivered by Francisco Pizarro in 1535 to his Captain Jeronimo de Aliaga, after the foundation of the city. Then head to San Francisco Church where an enviable collection of ancient books is kept and you can visit a real network of catacombs. You will then head to the district of Pueblo Libre to visit the Larco Museum, founded by Rafael Larco Hoyle in 1926. In this museum, inside a colonial mansion built on a seventh century pyramid, you can find the most complete collection of prehispanic pieces of gold and silver as well as erotic art. Drive through the residential districts of San Isidro and Miraflores. At the end of the tour, transfer to hotel.
