10 DAYS AUTHENTIC NAMIBIAN ADVENTURES
DAY 1 - Arrival in Windhoek. You will be met by your guide, have time to discuss your itinerary, any questions you might have and exchange your money. We proceed via the city of Windhoek to Aabadi Bush Camp. Check in and enjoy the African Bush, from your comfortable hut. In the afternoon, we undertake a bush walk, with the San Trackers living on the camp. Learn about the ancient Bushman Lifestyle, use of plants for food, poison and/or medicine. In the evening after dinner, we gather around the fire and enjoy story-telling and dancing around the fire.
Overnight in hut with en-suite open air bathroom, with all meals included.
DAY 2 & 3 After enjoying our fire-cooked breakfast and a short unguided walk around the camp, we proceed to the world renowned Etosha National Park. A good amount of our time in the park will be spend on game-driving and viewing. This is more enjoyable early morning and late afternoon, when the animals get into a playful mood. You have an option to partake in the night game drives, which we can assist you to book directly at the camp.
Accommodation at Okaukuejo Camp or similar, with all meals included.
DAY 4 & 5 - Today we drive to Kaokoland, home to the Ovahimba people and Namibia' s remaining nomadic groups. This area is often referred to as the last wilderness and is also home to the desert elephant population. We drive up to Sesfontein, where we will walk the last 5 km to the village, where we will be for the next two days. Transfers are alternatively made by donkey cart.After setting up our camp, we will be taken around the homestead and a given a short brief on the culture and traditions as well as the do’ & don’ts. Enjoy the rest of the day interacting with the local community.
The following morning, we wake up and enjoy breakfast and join the local community in undertaking their daily activity, such as milking of cows, milk preparations, garment making, taking out cattle for feeding, etc.
Around midday, we take a drive around the village, visit various homesteads. Enjoy picnic lunch and a sun downer en route to our accommodation, where we arrive in time for dinner and spend the night around the fire.
Overnight camping in Himba Traditional Village with all meals included.
DAY 6 - After the Kaokoland adventure, we head to Damaraland. It is here at Twyfelfontein that we find one of the biggest collections of ancient rock art and engravings, done thousands of years ago by the San people. Another accolade for Damaraland is that it offers the most beautiful sunset, provided you are at a height to experience it. After lunch we undertake a nature drive, in search of Desert Elephants.
Overnight at Twyfelfontein Country Lodge or similar, with all meals included.
DAY 7 — In the morning we first visit Twyfelfontein Rock Art, then proceed to the Damara Cultural Village for a short cultural experience, before we proceed to Swakopmund, via Cape Cross Seal Colony. Enjoy lunch at Cape Cross Lodge.PM at leisure in Swakopmund.
Overnight in Orange House B&B or similar, with all meals included.
DAY 8 — SOSSUSVLEI Depart to Walvis Bay and participate in AM Dolphin Boat Cruise. We enjoy light lunch on the cruise and thereafter depart to Sossusvlei. In the afternoon, we undertake a sundowner drive to Elim dune.
Overnight at Sossus Dune Lodge or similar with all meals included. This lodge is the only lodge situated inside the park and guests have the privilege to stay inside the park till after sunset and before sunrise.
DAY 9 - WINDHOEK — This morning we depart early and arrive at Dune 45, the most photographed dune, for sunrise. We enjoy our packed breakfast here and thereafter depart to Sossusvlei, where we climb various dunes, high and low, to get to our destination, the “Dead Vlei”. After visiting “Dead Vlei”. Around midday, we proceed to Windhoek. Stopover for lunch at Soitaire Country lodge. Your guide will pick you up for dinner at a traditional restaurant or at a local restaurant or you can enjoy dinner at your accommodation establishment.
Overnight at Elegant Guesthouse or similar, with all meals included.
DAY 10 – END OF TOUR – In the morning we undertake a city and township tour, which ends at the Diamond Works Cutting Workshop. Enjoy the rest of the day at own leisure. Transfer to Hosea Kutako International Airport, in time for flight back home.
