Kyaing Tone Trekking Tour – Eastern  Shan State

 

    Trekking to the Hill Tribes in Kyaing Tone Tour Detail

Destinations      :      Yangon/ Kyaing Tone/ Inle Lake/ Bagan  - Mt. Popa — Salay — Yangon

   

 

Day 1:   Arrival  Yangon International Airport

 

You will be welcomed by Odyssey Travel Myanmar tour guide at Yangon International Airport, transfer to hotel.

 We will start sightseeing walking tour in the heart of Yangon, where we will observe various  architecture, and have opportunities to take photographs of Burma’s Capital.

Visit to Sule Pagoda, Indian Street. Afternoon visit includes.

  Chaukhutgyi Reclining Buddha Image, and its monasteries around inside the pagoda compound where we can learn the daily life of the monks who are studying the Buddha’s doctrine from elderly monks.

 Botataung Pagoda.

 After that, drive to Nanthida Jetty, observing the lively people who goes and comes by ferry boat to attend their work.

 Evening visit to Shwedagon Pagoda; the world famous golden stupa. Shwedagon at night affords magical views during the cooler temperatures of the evening when the crowds are fewer, and the atmosphere simply amazing.

 Dinner at Karaweik Palace restaurant entertain with cultural show accompanying with Myanmar saing (a circle of Myanmar drums).

Overnight in Yangon.

 

Day 2:         Yangon/ Kyaing Tone by flight

 Arrive to Kyaing Tone locates in Eastern Shan State.

 We will be seeing the hill tribes of Akha, Akhu, Lahu, Lahu Na, Lahu Shi, Palaung, Wa, Ahn (Enn), Lisaw (Li Shaw), and Shan in Kyaing Tone area.

 Transfer to hotel. Visit to Hot Spring.

Overnight in Kyain Tone.

 

Day 3:   Kyaing Tone — Trekking to Akha & Hill Tribes

 After breakfast, morning visit to Water Buffalo Market. The market day opens twice a week.

Local tour guide will assist to us for trekking.

 A 50 minutes drive and trek about 90 minutes to arrive “Hi Kyin” villages, typical Akha tribe 4 villages. A 30 min walk visiting from one village to another. Round trip will tak us about 4 hours.

 Overnight in Kyaing Tone.

 

Day 4:   Kyaing Tone — Trekking to Enn & Hill Tribes

 Breakfast at hotel. We will visit to Pin Tauk area by car.

 Explore to the villages of Akha and Enn tribes. Some tribes are Baptist and some are still animists. The Enn are an ethnic group who has significant of their “Black Teeth”. The walk is not difficult and can be done slowly. The tribes live on the higher slopes, have distinctively different costumes and beliefs from the other tribes. It will take about a 4 hours to visit the villages.

 Late afternoon, we will arrive back to hotel.

 Overnight in Kyaing Tone.

 

Day 5:     Kyaing Tone/ Heho by flight — Inle Lake

 Morning visit in Kyaing Tone, then transfer to airport to take flight to Heho.

 After arrival Heho, proceed to Nyaung Shwe (approximately 2 hour drive). Upon arrival in Nyaung Shwe we will board a boat that will take us to a stunning hotel that has a great vantage point for some of the best sunsets in the region.

 Overnight at Inle Lake.

 

Day 6:      Inle Lake

 Inle Lake is 22x10 km, with an average depth of 6 meters. There are 64 villages and their inhabitants who reside on the lake in their homes that rest high above the water.

We will observe the lifestyle of these inhabitants who support their families by farming and fishing.

Sightseeing includes;

 Morning visit to the colorful five day market — we will see hill tribes trading their farm products of vegetables, fruits, sun dried tea leaves, art, works of wooden sculpture with their unique style in a bustling atmosphere.

 Ywama village — floating gardens, a traditional weaving mill for Intha-textiles, silk weaving workshops; excellent work of shawls and robes with natural fibers produced from lotus flowers stems in natural color.

 Nampan village — we will observe how Burmese Cheroots are produced primarily by young ladies using traditional methods. We will also visit a work place of Shan paper that is made from mulberry bark and transformed into Shan umbrellas and other beautiful products.

 Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda.

 Nga Phe Chaung Monastery.  Overnight at Inle Lake.

 

Day 7:    Heho/ Bagan by Morning Flight — visit Bagan

 

After breakfast, transfer to Heho airport. A 30 min flight to Bagan; the first and most beautiful capital of Myanmar.

 After arrival, visit to Nyaung Oo village typical market: the morning market is lively with local products trading of various beans, sesame, vegetables, flowers, bamboo wares and coloful emotions of vendors which is really attractive to visitors.

 Spend the day visiting Bagan where guests will embark upon seeing the ancient temples that Bagan is renowned for:

 Shwezigon pagoda; an extraordinary example of the early style of the Myanmar stupa. During the construction of the Shwezigon, workers lined up and formed a chain nearly seven miles long from the Ayarwaddy River to the temple, where sandstone was laboriously passed from one worker to the other until it reached its destination.

 Htilo Minlo-a temple; that is famed for its intricate carvings and named after King Nga Daung Mya who became a crown prince even though he was the youngest son among five brothers.

 Wetgyi-In Gu Byauk Gyi; possess many fine mural paintings of jataka scenes. These mural paintings depict Buddha’s life.

 After lunch we will proceed to the work place of handmade lacquerware, and observe the detailed process of the making of Myanmar lacquerware & its products.

 Dhamayangyi temple; a massive temple inlaid with the finest brick work of its king. History states that the bricklayer’s work was tested by their boss, who would attempt to stick a pin through where the bricks conjoined; and if the pin penetrated this area, the laborers were sentenced to death by the order of the king.

 

 Anada temple; an architectural masterpiece and considered by some as the most beautiful in all of Bagan.

 

 Thatbyinnyu temple; the tallest of all Bagan temples.

 

 Shwesandaw Pagoda; affording unequaled views of Bagan’s landscape at sunset. Overnight in Bagan.

 

Day 8:    Bagan — Mt. Popa — Salay — Bagan day return trip

 

If you are early riser, morning visit by 5:45AM to the temple and inspire of the sunrays rise behind from the Pagodas will be one of the memorial beauty of Bagan.

 After breakfast at hotel, we will drive to Mt. Popa (4981 feet), an extinct volcano, with temperate weather and lush green landscape. At the base of Mt. Popa rests the stunning Taung Ka Lat (2417 feet) where the Popa Temple sits atop.

 There is an iron staircase that ascends to the Popa temple where you will encounter shops of flowers, refreshment sellers, local goods as well as some local wildlife along the way. The scenery from the apex is truly fascinating where you can view the stunning Mount Popa and the enormous flat plains that lead to Bagan.

 We proceed driving to Salay, an old town with ancient ruins from the Bagan era.

 

Sightseeing includes;

 Payathonzu complex Yoke Sone Monastery.

 The Man Paya – the largest lacquareware Buddha Image in Myanmar.

 In the evening, we will sit at Bu Paya on the bank of Ayarwaddy River and enjoy the last evening with beauty of Ayarwaddy River in Bagan.  Overnight in Bagan.

 

Day 9:   Bagan/ Yangon by morning flight — depart from Yangon

 Transfer to airport for an hour flight to Yangon. Arrive to Yangon before noon.

After lunch, visit to;

 Bogyoke Market where local merchants offer Myanmar traditional silks, cotton, paintings, tapestries, handicrafts, silverware, lacquerware, national dress & ethnic fashions, gems & jewelry.

 Our itineraries include visiting to markets, workshops that intend to have an observation of local trading trends, the process of art & craft, the ways how locals survive for their family living. If our guests are not interested in visiting those spots, please kindly skip the venues.

Free time before departure.

Transfer to Yangon International Airport.  Fly back to your home land.
