Middle Atlas and the Imperial cities
1st day: Reception at the airport and transfer to your hotel / Riad where to spend the first night in Marrakech, and getting ready for the next steps throughout the great discovery of the Moroccan old and imperial cities; and get through every one of the dynasties having occupied morocco in a certain stage of its rich history.
2nd day: starting our beautiful exploring trip, we first take the road leading towardsFez, and then we turn into the high Atlas Mountains in order to enjoy the highest and biggest waterfalls ofMorocco andNorth Africa as well. The Ouzoud falls is falling about 110m high into a very beautiful canyon where we can observe some apes families living around the falls in the olive groves…we take a beautiful walk around it. Then afterwards we carry on our trip passing the famous middle atlas cedars forest and the Ifran skiing resort; from which we head down into the gate of the kingdom’s history and culture’s birth city.(Fez)
3rd day: Fes a day devoted to visit the most prestigious high light of the imperial cities,Fez, which reveals its history through its monuments, testimony to the movement of trade, which is outside theMaghreb a brilliant center of civilization. After stopping to admire the view over the city, discovering the madrasas Attarine and theUniversity ofQuaraouiyine, one of the oldest in the world. It then runs along the street Talaa, lively, leading to the door and place Boujloud. Lunch and then you take a tour in thenew city ofFez or you can take some free time into the medina.
4th day:Meknes
Day dedicated toMeknes and its surroundings. Morning visit to the city: the famous gates of Bab Mansour and Bab El-khemiss, instead Lahdim, stables. Moroccan lunch. In the afternoon, exploring the ruins of the roman city ofVolubilis(20km to the north ofMeknes) which shows in a way the Roman’s occupation ofNorth Africaaround few hundreds of years before Christ. Then we head towards the Moroccan capital city be the Atlantic coast. Overnight a beautiful hotel.
5th day:Rabat
Explore Rabat the political and administrative capital on the Atlantic coast. Visit: Mechouar Esplanade, the Mausoleum Mohamed V (white marble pavilion crowned with green tiles),HassanTower(XII century) and Kasbah Oudayas (first royal residence) with its gardens of Hispano-Moorish style. Lunch during the tour, and overnight inRabat.
6th day:Casablanca, Marrakech
Departure toCasablanca, the largest city and economic capital ofMorocco. Orientation tour: Mohamed V square, park of the Arab League, standing at the Grand Mosque Hassan II (optional tour except religious holidays: 120 DH about pay locally). Lunch on the ledge which hosts restaurants, hotels, shops and pavement cafes. Road toMarrakeshby the plain Chaouia.
7th day: Marrakech
Top spot, Marrakech is the third largest city in Morocco. Discover the southern capital with the gardens of Agdal and Menara gardens, planted with olive trees. Lunch break, then visiting the medina: standing at the Koutoubia, representative building of the Almohads art, we also visit theBahiaPalace, a masterpiece of Moroccan architecture with its gardens and patios. This walk ends on the famous Djemaa El Fna, a veritable open-air theatre.
8th day: Transfer to the airport
