Day 1. City tour. Visit one of the wold’s most chaotic cities starting with the Palacio Nacional, former government house, adorned by Diego Rivera’s mural paintings; Templo Mayor heart of the Aztec empire;Mexico city’s main cathedral;Teotihuacancity pyramids and The last ofMexico city’s original geography, Xochimilco lakes.
Day 2. Cholula-Puebla. Breakfast. Both Pre-hispanic and colonial citys await us here. We’ll start out with the most voluminous pyramid in the world atCholula; continuation to the town ofTonanzintlato admire the Mexican baroque art; next we’ll head to downtownPueblafor lunch and visiting its colonial jewels.
Day 3. Breakfast. Oaxaca state. This is home to some of Mexico’s main indigenous cultures. We’ll begin with the downtown area filled with religious buildings of unique beauty; We’ll visit San Bartolo Coyotepec earth’s womb from whence Black clay is born.
Day 4. Oaxaca.The unique ancient zapotec city ofMonte Albancomes first; then we’ll interact with the oldest trees of the region, Tule tree; Teotitlán del Valle follows handicraft indigenous town producer of handmade rugs ideal for your living room.
Day 5. Chiapas state. Very early departure to the state ofChiapas. Breakfast at Santo Domingo Thuantepec half way there; Tuxtla Gutiérrez, capital of the state,SumideroCanyonmirador and marima (traditional music) dancing.
Day 6. Breakfast;SumideroCanyonby boat; continuation toChiapasindigenous towns such as: ZInacantán and San Andrés Larrainzar untilSan Cristóbalde las Casas for lunch, lodging and free afternoon.
Day 7. Breakfast. We head towards Agua Azul and Misol-ha waterfalls to freshen up; continuation to the mayan archaeological zone Palenqque where Pacal’s (mayan for lord) was found.
Day 8. We’ll visit the formerly defensive port city ofCampeche; on our way there we’ll stop at Champotón town for trying the local sea food; Shortly after we’ll reachCampeche, which we’ll tour around and continue to Mérida state for lodging.
Day 9. Mèrida state. Breakfast. Panoramic downtown visit; we’ll head on to the mayan archaeological site Chichén Itzá one of the most famous of its type; lunch and lodging at Playa del Carmen.
Day 10. Breakfast; The ancient merchant port Tulu mis our first stop; next we’ll enter the under World through a Cenote, the mayans believed to be its entrance.
Day 11. The end; Cancún airport transfer or return toMexico cityby car 15 hours.
